January 10, 2007 - A fire broke out approximately 8 pm along PA Route 19 in Cranberry Twp, Butler County, in a small strip shopping center which holds an Alpine Pools, Benefical Loan, Remax Realty and Play It Again Sports. Employees in Play it again sports noticed the smoke and got shoppers out safely along with other tenants. A quick response from Cranberry VFD and the fact Cranberry Twp stongly enforces their building codes including fire walls, the majority of damage stayed within the Play It Again Sports store. The other store fronts received mostly smoke and water damage. This fire goes to show when building codes are adhered to and enforced that fire damage can be limited and lives saved. Excellent job to all in Cranberry Twp.
